Ok, so when we went for his 15 month check up right before Christmas is when we found out about the RSV, so they couldn't do the actual check up then so it was reschduled for after Christmas. We got it done right before going back to school.
He did ok with the shots, but our doc was really concerned about his size. Actually, she's been concerned since his 9 month check up, but she was just watching it until now. She said it was time to start checking things out. He's basically fallen off of the growth chart since 9 months...just steadily gone down. And was BELOW the 5th % in both height and weight.
First thing she wanted to do was a complete lab workup. We went last Thursday for that. He had 3 viles of blood drawn from his arm...which was AWFUL! I had to hold down the opposite arm and his chest, while Brad held his legs down. He was hysterical! They checked EVERYTHING! White count, red count, all levels - chemistry, electrolytes, hormones, thyroid, urine, etc...And of what results are back as of today, his thyroid levels were high. So they started him on a daily med and are setting up an appointment with an endocrinologist to further investigate on what's going on and also get set up to do a bone age x-ray. So if you would, please pray for us and him as we go through this ordeal and figure out just what's going on with him.
We also took him to the park and got his haircut before going back to school. The part was a BLAST...the haircut...not so much!

Haircut...
As you can tell from these and previous pics, his hair had got pretty shabby and long in some places (over his ears, for one). So we took him to get a little trim! It was about as bad a getting the blood drawn, bless his heart! He wouldn't let her put the cape on him and just whined the entinre time! He had his shoulders drawn up and tried to turn away from her the whole time. Which kind of surprised me because he does great when docs are trying to look in his ears. Oh well. He did sit in the chair, but I had to hold his hands the whole time, so I only got one pic after it was over with and by that time he really wasn't a happy camper. But it looks sooo much better and makes him look like a little boy now instead of a baby!

Other Adventures...
Cal is talking up a storm! As my mom says, "he never shuts up!" Ha! But it's true! He is constantly "talking". And you can understand about half of what he says! His favorite word is probably football! Iknow that's a shocker. But even when you turn a game on TV, that's the first thing he says!
He is great about falling asleep on his own in his bed at night, but sometimes we still cry a little! We had to lower his bed all the way to the ground it seems like, because he toppled out of it last week! I went in to wake him from a nap and he was playing with the puppy dog in his bed and started leaning on the front rail and just fell right over it! I jumped and caught him before he hit the ground and it scared us both! So it's lowered again...the next step will be to make it the toddler bed, which just means putting a different rail on the front so he can climb in and out of it. But that will still be a while.
He knows his nose, head, ears, mouth, hand, tongue (that's the funniest), toes, and some others. He loves to throw a ball...or anything for that matter! If he can pick it up and toss it, he'll do it over and over and over! He can take off his own shirt once we take his arms out. He LOVES chocolate milk thanks to his daddy! ;)
He's getting much better about understand and doing what you ask him to do. We can tell him to shut the door and he will. He'll go stand by his chair when it's time to eat. Things like that. I just can't believe how much they absorb and what all they learn and how fast they learn it! It really is amazing and NEVER a dull moment! Did I mention that he is running and is turning into a climber! HA! Ok, enough for now!
