Pensacola...

Well, we took a very unexpected and quick weekend trip to Pensacola a few weekends ago. Brad's sister and her kids were on vacation in Pensacola. Well, the kids (Luke - 10 and Analeigh - 7) were playing at the pool and Analeigh fell and hit her side. She complained forever about it hurting, but when she got ghost white pale and started throwing up, they took her to an ER. That ER determined that it was her spleen and she had internal bleeding, so they rushed her by ambulance to a pediatric ER where a surgeon was waiting on them when they arrived. After more scans, etc., they saw that they bleeding had all but stopped and decided to place and watch her in the ICU before doing surgery. She stayed in the ICU for 2 days, then was moved to a regular room for another 2 days! Talk about crazy! She didn't have to have surgery (thankfully), but she is on all kind of restrictions for the next 6 months and has to get blood levels checked and scans re-do every so often. Not being able to do anything is going to be the hardest part for her! But she's doing great so far and all blood levels and scans have been great! But anyways.....we got up real early on a Saturday morning and drove down to see her. I think she was pumped that we came. :)  We just hated not to go. And it really wasn't a bad drive. We came home that next day because she got released that day!

While we were down there, we also did some mini vaca things. We took Cal to the Gulf Breeze Zoo and he really enjoyed that. He still talks about it all the time, and asks to go back to the petting zoo as he calls it. We also went to the National Naval Aviation Museum, which was really neat.

I'll let pics and captions tell the details... (WARNING: Lots of pics!!)

Waiting to ride the train at the zoo....

HUGE turtle we spotted that had escaped! He'd dug a whole under the fence over there behind Brad....

On the train!

A mega python that was moving around like crazy and poking at the screen up top...we think it was his feeding time and he was anxiously awaking something to be dropped in. He'd also follow your hand along the glass....creepy!
Cal and Lauren checking out something a little less creepy!

 Llama, Llama..

Bout to feed the little goat!
 Lauren loved this! :)
Cal didn't! Which is surprising, because he loves to feed them at the state fair! Go figure

But he did like this little sleeping goat!

These are at the Naval Aviation Museum.....

 Who knew?? Ha!

Of course they had a playground area! We waited til the end of the "tour" to go see this...
 Checking out a Blue Angel!
 Future Pilot! :)
If you are ever in Pensacola and in need of something to do, I would recommend checking this place out! There is so much to do and see and it's free admission!
