Well, having the tonsils removed in a toddler is NO FUN!! I won't sugarcoat, it's been rough. The day of wasn't too bad, but it went downhill from there. He was first in line that morning, so the actual surgery itself didn't take long. We had to be there at 6, they took him back about 7 and he was back with us by about 9. But he had to stay there to be observed until 2 that afternoon! He was ill and cranky, but slept a good bit. He was drinking his juice, which was great. And then when we got in the car to come home, he ate a whole honey bun and then a half of another! I thought it was going to be a smooth sailing recovery! But I was wrong. Once we got home, he was so fussy and wouldn't eat or drink anything else. And then the pain medicine started making him sick! He was gagging, etc. It was awful. Wednesday wasn't much better. He did eat a donut that morning and drank a little milk throughout the day, but that was it. And he was glued to my side. Literally. I could not put him down and he wouldn't even have anything to do with my mom! He was pitiful. And he ran fever all day. Thursday was the exact same! Then by Friday, he wouldn't eat anything at all! He was still drinking some (enough not to get dehydrated), but no food whatsoever! He pepped up a little bit on Saturday, and has been gradually getting better ever since. He still won't each much, but is starting to try. I think he's been scared to eat. But like I said, I really think he's on the mend and will be back to his normal wide open self soon! At least we are cleared to go outside now! But still not water activities. But that's better than nothing...I have watched all 3 Toy Story movies and Cars a MILLION times! Ha!
We'd just got to the hospital, and were trying to find something for him to watch to kinda keep him distracted from realizing where he was! (Check out the awesome bed-head!)

Trying to relax a little while we wait.

Then they made us put the gown on, and Cal knew that something was up! And it was downhill from there. BUT the medicine they mix in with the Tylenol that they give them before taking them back (to help knock them out), made him soooooo loopy! He literally couldn't hold his head up. It was like he was drunk! Bless him! He didn't even cry when the nurse took him back to the OR.

Back at home...he was so used to me checking his temp, he thought he could handle that on his own.

His weekend was made when Celeste came by and brought him Buzz!! Mom gave him Woody when she came on Wednesday and once he got Buzz, he was one happy camper! He LOVES them both and plays with them ALL THE TIME!
