Beach Trip (1)

Well, we just got back from the beach and it was so great!!! I was in much need of a vacation and this one hit the spot! My mom got a condo and it was Mom, Me and Cal, Reid and Amy and Hailey and Beau. To say it was non-stop and wild is an understatement, but we really did have a blast! We spent every morning on the beach then napped, then "hit the town". Ha! It's a little harder to do a whole lot with Cal and Beau...like a 2 hour wait for a table for example, but we made it just fine! Brad got to come at the end of the week and then we actually sent Cal home with Mom on Friday morning and spent 2 extra nights just us! :) AND there were so many people we knew who were also down there...people who we don't get to see regularly so we had a blast getting to hang out with them and have some grown up time.

Feeding the fish after eating at The Original Oyster House. Cal LOVED this!

Killing time waiting for a table at the Oyster House

Cal was impressed...this was before Alligator Alley...he was in for a surprise for sure!

Couldn't resist!

Swimmin with Daddy!
He liked the pool much better than the ocean!
(He is his Mama's child! Ha!)

Playin on the tire swing while waiting at Tacky Jack's!

A few beach pics...
I didn't have my camera much on the beach, but Mom did
and when I get her pics, I will do a post with more beach pics.

Cal wasn't a huge fan of the beach at first. It actually took him a long time to warm up to it. He'd play in the sand a little bit, but didn't like it on his hands and I couldn't get him anywhere near the water. But by the end of the week, he was covered in the sand and he would kinda let us hold him in the water! Ha! But he did love the pool! He actually got to where he would float on his back! Yay! We'd been working on that for a while. Now, Hailey and Beau loved the beach and water! They didn't hardly stay out of it until it was time to go in for lunch. After lunch every day, Cal would just pass out and we'd have to wake him up like 3 hours later! That sun and sand just wore him out! Since the kids are still to young to really do the water park or the track, we ended up taking them to Alligator Alley in Summerdale....just to do something a little different one day. Amy has a friend with a young child and she highly recommended it, so we thought "why not?" It was SO worth it and I now highly recommend. They do a feeding time for the big gators 3 times a day and then you can walk around and see the smaller ones, hold a small one, walk through the swamp and toss food to the gators. It was so hot, but the kids LOVED it! I can't emphasize just how much Cal LOVED IT! He did NOT want to leave! He had a blast, which surprised me a little. When it was our turn to hold the alligator, he jumped right on up there and wanted to touch and hold it and see it up close. And after I gave it back to the trainer, he wanted to see it again. We got to hold 3 different ones and he was the same way each time. Then he loved tossing the food off the bridge and seeing the gators chomp on it. So when we got done looking and feeding, we went to the gift shop and I got Cal a little stuffed alligator and he has played with that thing so much! He will run it around the coffee table over and over again!

When I do the post with more beach pics, I am going to include all the Alligator Alley pics!
