Spring Break...Memphis Zoo

Our baseball team played in Gulf Shores this past Spring Break, so Brad and I spent the first part of the week down there! It was so nice to get away a few days! The weather was ok...really sunny one day and I definitely took advantage of that! There were other people from Brandon down there, so we had some fun times with them! Nice adult getaway! :)

The end of the week, Cal has a doctors appointment in Memphis with the Endocrinologist. Everything went great and we are just keeping on doing what we are doing until he turns 3. When he turns 3, we will take him off of the medicine for 4-6 weeks, then do a full lab work up, probably another bone age x-ray, and possibly an iodine test on the thyroid (depending on results after being off medicine). But other than that, he's just perfect! Ha! He is still really small, especially compared to the boys. He was up just a little in weight percentile, but still really low in height.

But any-who....while we were up there, we stayed the night and took him to the zoo!! He LOVED it! It did rain the morning, so that hindered us a little and made it slightly miserable, but after an hour or so, it cleared on up!

The night before the zoo, we were killing time before getting something to eat and we went to the mall and rode the carousel...cheap entertainment! But Cal really liked it. It took him a few minutes to warm up to it, but when he did, he didn't want to get off. He wanted to ride each and every animal on there!
Taking a brief stroll down Beale Street
The day we planned to go to the zoo...well, like I said, it was raining that day and it was super hard that morning. While waiting on hard rain to pass, we played and ate lunch at Chuck E. Cheese. We didn't think there would be much for Cal to do in there, but it really was!

We also went and visited with Evie and Papa before going back to school, and Papa killed a turkey!!! I really figured Cal would be terrified of it, but he wasn't! He asked questions and wanted to closely examine and touch all over it! Then after Dad cleaned it, Cal kept asking where the turkey went! He missed it! Ha!

Til next time....
